LARACHÍ: The word ‘larachí’ means ‘night’ in Caló, the language of the Roma people from the Iberian Peninsula and southern France. Larachí is also the title of this show based on the famous gatherings of the Roma people. Under the light of candles, the Roma of the past would gather to sing and dance all night long. The memory of that lost tradition is also an appeal to the purest, most beautiful, and most authentic feeling of flamenco, as the company presenting this show strongly believes. The group is led by Francesc Amador, a dancer from a Roma family in Sabadell. Amador has been passionate about flamenco dancing since he was very young. He has studied with renowned figures such as Farruquito, Juan de Juan, Torombo, Costi el Chato, and La Tani. He has also toured the tablaos of Barcelona and performed at prestigious festivals.
