For the first time in its history, Tarantos hosts a Flamenco group composed solely of women. “Mujeres” is, in fact, the title of a show promoted by Rebeca Monasterio, an artist who has worked with Chana and Farruquito, among others, and is a regular at Tarantos. The bailaora describes “Mujeres” as “an explosion of strength, art and wisdom in five warrior women, who will demonstrate how much they know about this art and rejoice in their great dream … THE FLAMENCO.” And she does not lack reason. Not surprisingly, Monasterio shares stage – and talent – with the dancer Marina González, collaborator of Eva la Yerbabuena and Rafael Amargo, the revelation singers María del Mar Fernández and “La Lebri”, and the singer Antonia Rodríguez, required in the best tablaos of the country.
