Presentation Agua & Vino

Maite Rubio guitar, Míriam Franch guitar

With a powerful, expressive live show, the Rubio Franch duo combine bold, daring, life-affirming pieces with others showing deep, delicate sensitivity: a blend difficult to find in live performances. In fact, their repertoire gels perfectly thanks to the extraordinary connection between Maite Rubio and Míriam Franch. Founded in 1996, when the two guitarists completed their studies at the Liceu Conservatory, the Rubio Franch duo have performed at various guitar festivals and have toured Cuba, Russia, the USA, France and China, as well as working with the Barcelona Guitar Orchestra. They play works by Bartók, Brower, Piazzolla and Gismonti, among many others, and have recorded some of this music on their album Agua & Vino, which they will present at the Tarantos.
