A follower of Antonio Canales and Merche Esmeralda, among others, the dancer Toni Moñiz made his debut in the flamenco world of his city, Barcelona, at a very young age. For example, he took part in the ‘92 Olympiad as part of Cristina Hoyos’ company. A winner of several awards, Moñiz has danced at the city’s top tablaos, including the Tarantos, and has worked with artists such as the cantaora Ginesa Ortega, of the group Ojos de Brujo, as well as choreographing various shows. He currently runs the well-known José de la Vega flamenco school. With an approach based on precision, excellence and passion, today Toni Moñiz is one of the big names on the Barcelona flamenco scene.
